When you come across a similar issue with other laptops, you'll have a solid handle on what to check in order to narrow down the problem component(s) and doing the research to find the part(s) and discussing purchase of the parts for the owner of the system.
You might end up replacing some fun stuff. Sounds like what others said, definitely either motherboard, CPU, or graphics processing issue.
